Some career coaches advise clients to take more time off their job and the result will be increased productivity.
Seem strange to you? Well, it’s not.
It works!
In fact, that’s what the “Doom Loop” tells you to do.
It’s pretty simple, actually – and, if you think about it in “Doom Loop” terms, you can see why.
If you’re generally happy in your job – or even if you are somewhere near the top of the “Doom Loop” and are going steadily from Q2 to Q3, one of the things that you can do is to give yourself LESS time to do your job.
In a nutshell, you simply “aren’t really that good at” doing your job in less time than you have been allotting to do your work. If you reduce the amount of time that you have available to do your job, you have simply put yourself back over in the Q1/Q2 range where your motivation kicks in.
This simple trick is a remedy for the two career crises of “Doomed BEFORE Capstone” as well as “Doomed AT Capstone.”
It works in practice.
Give it a try – and have a little more fun in your life!
